2 SAFETY

 

CLAS is to date the only company independent of license sellers and construction companies,which specializes in the construction of breakwaters with artificial blocks of the type ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, X-bloc^® , BS1, BS2, BS3 or other.

 

CLAS inspectors are all IMCA and HSE approved divers, construction specialists, monitoring specialists and trainers. CLAS provides safety training for the personnel involved in the construction of dikes using ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II type blocks, CORELOC™ , ECOPODE™, X-bloc^® , BS1, BS2, BS3 or other. CLAS inspectors supervise your teamsand adapt the safety procedures to your equipment and the requirements related to the implementation implement technologies such as ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, X-bloc^® , BS1, BS2, BS3 or other. Training is continuous and all staff are trained.

Our knowledge of block breakage and damage mechanics comes from more than twenty years of full-time presence on construction sites around the world. We do not work with scale models, we do not install the blocks on a dry model in the laboratory, we build real structures under water and above water, in scale 1 and this completely changes the technical and pedagogical approach to training personnel and carrying out works by integrating the constraints of reality, which are not taken into account in the laboratory.

Our inspectors check each construction area several times a day and this avoids having to rebuild part of the breakwater.

We control in real time:

- The underlayerlayer and the granulometry of the materials put in the sea and not only the loading forms of the trucks.

- Placement of the  the blocks several times a day,

- The perfect interlocking of the blocks to avoid any movement after installation.

 

At the end of the construction of each section, we issue a certificate of conformity which is based on our inspection reports and guarantees that the construction is sound and the durability of the dikes guaranteed.

 

The project thus monitored receives CLASS A certification, which proves that the breakwater complies with the design tested on the 3D model, complies with the technology and above all, complies with the sustainability objectives required by the project owner.

4 SPEED OF CONSTRUCTION

CLAS inspectors join the installation teams. Our inspectors are specialists in the construction of breakwaters using blocks of the ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, X-bloc ® BS1, BS2, BS3 or other types. They know how to give advice that will avoid Errors. When necessary, they can lay the blocks themselves to help the company overcome a difficult passage.

The block laying teams supervised by a CLAS inspector achieve higher production than conventional teams, but we go beyond that by also putting in specialized laying teams.

It is now a standard to see 3 or 4 blocks laid per hour, part of which will then be dismantled because of the poor interlocking of the blocks. The reality is very far from the productions indicated by the license merchants. This comes from the misuse of installation tools, or from unsuitable installation tools and procedures, from training that may be poorly targeted and in our opinion much too short. Laying ACCROPODE™, ACCROPODE™II, CORELOC™, ECOPODE™, X-bloc^® , BS1, BS2, BS3 or other type armor blocks is a job, it cannot be improvised and cannot be learned in a few hours.

The productions achieved with the full-time assistance of a CLAS inspector are more in the order of 6 to 12 blocks per hour, correctly placed and approved. The production depends on the size of the blocks, the placing machines and the visibility in the water.

 

In this image the block adjustment procedure defined by CLAS, allows to correctly place 8 blocks per hour with a hydraulic shovel. This includes any adjustments.

 

With the same equipment, the CLAS procedure and reference system make it possible to multiply production by at least two.

Throughout the duration of the construction, CLAS inspectors will lead training meetings and meetings with the project manager and the client, to present the progress of the work and answer any questions.

 

There is no confidentiality associated with the BREAKWATER SOLUTION™ concept because there are no difficulties that should be hidden because the company has not been able to overcome them. Full-time monitoring of the construction avoids all difficulties.
